Managing Employee Investigations and Avoiding A BAD DAY AT THE OFFICE

Approved for 1 HRCI credit

The most important thing you do is conduct employee investigations.  Do you do defensible investigations?

Prepare now for your next investigation, before an employee complains, or a lawsuit is filed against you and the company.  This informative and entertaining seminar will start the process of getting you ready for your next investigation.  Checklists, forms and tips are provided.

Through the use of video excerpts, Lane Powell attorney D. Michael Reilly, who has an active trial practice representing companies and management in employment disputes, takes you through a fairly routine employment investigation and shows how a seemingly good harassment investigation turns ugly by the time of the later lawsuit and deposition.

Learning Objectives:

In this seminar, Mr. Reilly:

  • outlines the tough questions you should be prepared to answer about your investigations, company policies, and training;
  • describes how the employee’s attorney will attack your investigation in deposition and at trial;
  • provides a checklist of the top ten tips in employee investigations;
  • lists ways to enhance company training and policies.

Through this presentation you’ll be better prepared so that your next investigation does not turn out to be another “bad day at the office.”
