The Compensation & Benefits Special Interest Group (SIG) roundtable encourages participants to share experiences and successes. Monthly meetings include a subject matter expert to frame the discussion topic, followed by real world examples and issues shared by participants. Attendees range from compensation or benefits specialists to directors of large organizations.

Those simply looking to learn more about compensation and benefits from seasoned professionals are invited to attend, as well. This group is facilitated by Todd Miller, Sales Executive at Kibble & Prentice. Parking in the building will be validated.

LinkedIn offers such an incredible array of features and functionality, however, that it can be easy to overlook some of the more creative, unique, and powerful applications the site has to offer. In this session, we’ll review a “Top 5” list of LinkedIn uses that every modern HR professional needs to know about—including advanced tips related to a mix of corporate and individual applications that spans recruiting, vendor sourcing, job hunting, career management, and professional development. As advocates for the HR community, SHRM members understand and can communicate how public policy issues may affect employees, employers and the HR profession as a whole. By working together, we can help advance effective workplace public policy and strive to move our profession forward. This session is for SHRM members who are interested in learning the tricks and tips on how to advance the HR Perspective on workplace issues to their state legislatures before the laws are passed and enforcement guidelines are decided. Chapter Leaders and Governmental Affairs Directors are strong encouraged to attend. The training session will include such things as how to write impactful letters to legislators and the media, how to request meetings with legislators and how to conduct such meetings.
